A man was killed, Friday, when his vehicle, stopped at a car accident scene, was rear-ended by an LAPD Patrol Car on the Ronald Reagan Freeway.

It is currently unclear if the vehicle had been involved in an accident prior to being struck by a cruiser from the Los Angeles Police Department's Mission Station, said a sergeant from LAPD's Traffic Division.

A male was killed in the crash, west of Tampa Avenue, said California Highway Patrol. There was no further information regarding the driver that was killed at this time. The officer driving the patrol cruiser suffered minor injuries.

California Highway Patrol is currently investigating the cause of the accident.
