Man Critically Injured in Car Accident

The Bakersfield Police said a 41-year-old man is listed in critical condition at Kern Medical Center on Wednesday night after being struck by a car.

Officers said Johnny Padilla, Jr. of Bakersfield was crossing an intersection when an Acura Integra, driven by Christina Richey (known also as Christina Loren, on-air personality for 23ABC) hit him. Padilla sustained massive injuries and was transported by ambulance.

Officers released Richey at the scene. They believe the man was at fault. No alcohol was present and the investigation is ongoing.
