A 45-year-old man lost his life in a tragic car accident, Saturday, in a head-on collision involving an alleged drunk driver.

He was traveling east on SR-78 in his 2007 Toyota Tacoma when a 2000 Ford Expedition crossed the double yellow line and smacked into the left front side of his pickup.

The Expedition drifted first onto the right side of the road and then turned left into eastbound traffic, colliding with the truck, California Highway Patrol said. The driver of the Tacoma was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Expedition was transported to the hospital, her injuries are currently unknown. She has been arrested on suspicion of felony driving under the influence.
