Marine Killed in Car Accident

A 20-year-old Marine was killed early morning in a one-car crash on north Interstate 5, south of Genesee Avenue.

The man, whose name has not yet been released, was a passenger in the car when the collision occurred just after 3:00am, according to the county Medical Examiner.

The car, driven by another Marine, swayed off the road and crashed into a tree, authorities say. The driver was transported to the hospital with several injuries.
