A 22-year-old U.S. Air Force enlistee was killed in a fatal motorcycle accident after being thrown from his motorcycle, on Interstate Highway 80, early this morning.

The motorcyclist was heading south on Interstate Highway 505 on his 2003 Honda motorcycle when he ran off the south side of the I-505 transition road to west I-80, according to California Highway Patrol.

The motorcycle crossed all of the westbound lanes on I-80 and crashed into a metal guardrail, then bounced back, causing the driver to be thrown from his bike. He landed in the center median, California Highway Patrol said.
