Motorcycle Accident Kills Arroyo Grande Man

Saturday evening a man died after losing control of his motorcycle near Arroyo Grande and hitting a telephone pole, said California Highway Patrol officials.

The unidentified 45-year-old man was taken to Arroyo Grande Community Hospital where he was pronounced dead at approximately 7:30 p.m., said CHP officials. As of Saturday night the man had not been identified and family hasn't yet been notified, said CHP officials.

The accident around 6 p.m. as the man sped east on El Campo Road next to Green Place, said the CHP. He rounded the corner and drove into ongoing traffic. He lost control of the motorcycle, was thrown off and hit a telephone pole on the north side of El Campo Road, said CHP.

The man was wearing his helmet but he sustained chest injuries, said CHP. CHP is still investigation and they believe alcohol was indeed involved.
